Parmiggiano Reggiano DOP is matured for a minimum of 16 months; during this time the cheese is nurtured until it becomes pale golden with a slightly granular, flaky texture and a nutty, slightly salty flavour. Parmesan has a thick, hard yellow to orange rind (chop this & let it dissolve into a slow cooking casserole or minestrone)

It is superb eaten on its own cut into chunks and slivers or served with ripe pears and a good red wine. It can also be grated over any number of hot or baked dishes, from pasta to polenta and risotto.

Keep refrigerated below 8 degrees. Once opened, use within 7 days.
